Dracula Untold (2014) Review By Looped Stream

Before we leap into doing a review of the movie, I must say, you’ll enjoy this flick. IF and only IF, you are not too concerned about the history behind it. People will complain against this film saying, the makers didn’t portray Vlad Tapes the Impaler as he was portrayed in the classic 1987 Novel by the name of “Dracula.”

They’d feel it as an insulting blow towards Bram Stoker, the author of the book. As I mentioned earlier, The film doesn’t follow the traditional story rather it gives us a new angle on Dracula.

It is powered by great acting performances. Talking about acting in this movie, Luke Evans needs to be mentioned. He’s the person in the title role. As a ruler of a small kingdom, Vlad has his duties towards his people as well as his family.

Finally when the time came to choose between the two most important aspects of his life, his struggle was clearly visible through Luke Evans’ portrayal. “The Good Leader” and “A Caring Family Person” both sides of Vlad’s personality is shown perfectly.

Cinematography will be surprising for many. Honestly, they might not expect things to be so warmer. Dracula films are very much darker when it comes to the atmosphere and the set up. But this film portrays Dracula in a different way as we have been pointing out from the start of the movie review.

Traditional Dracula flicks are known for their bloody violence and Gory type of action whereas here, you won’t find unnecessary piece of Gore tampering with your viewing experience. The movie puts Vlad as a person who cares about his kingdom and the people he holds dear. So, the story calls for a little peaceful environment.

There are a lot of movie reviews about Dracula which state that perhaps the film isn’t THAT scarry. People are even condemning the special effects of this flick. But Bistro would say this is certainly not a “Great Movie” but surely is a “Good Film” and there is a post credit scene which hinted on a sequel. It’s been “Almost” nine years since the movie. No sequel in sight.

I’m not surprised. It didn’t do that much business. However, some movies need to be experienced for a “Good Time,” fun, and chill evening with family and friends. For people who are interested, you’ve got this movie streaming on Netflix. Go have a ball, thank LoopedStream later.
